Vision Coral Gables is a response to the leading voices in our community who are urging the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce to become more involved in business development, economic growth initiatives, and problem solving by establishing strong strategic partnerships.

Designed to be a strong program of advocacy and growth for our members, VISION Coral Gables and its three new initiatives build upon the successes of the Chamber’s existing seven divisions and create a vision for our Chamber’s future.  Each of the divisions and their working committees focuses on our Chamber’s diverse and dynamic program of work: business and economic development, international affairs, member affairs, community affairs, government and legislative affairs and special events.

The focal point of these three program initiatives are community and economic development, travel and tourism, and small business.  Community and economic development has focused on three areas: business relocation assistance, expansion and retention; assistance with permitting processes; and collaboration with economic development partners.  Travel and tourism efforts are centered on collaboration and making Coral Gables a destination.  Strong efforts on the retail, hotel and restaurant front have produced early results.  Finally, small and independent businesses are the heart of Coral Gables and define our history.  Educational programs for employees, as well as other resources drive this initiative forward.

Regional collaboration continues to allow the Chamber to deliver these programs without duplication.  The plan calls for strong strategic alliances with the City of Coral Gables, Downtown Business Improvement District, Village of Merrick Park, Beacon Council, Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, other Chambers and business development organizations.

The efforts of each strategic objective are being overseen by a newly created Investor Council.  This group of Chamber volunteers and VISION investors manage the program and continue to secure new investors in the campaign.  In addition, they liaison with the Chamber’s leadership and the VISION investors to keep them apprised of the program’s successes and growth.

Without the support of each of our investors, who have made a five-year commitment, we would not be able to plan a vibrant program of work for the future of our Chamber.   

Together, we are developing business and building community.
