Division Vice Chair-Claire

This division is responsible for the
planning, fund-raising and implementation of
regularly recurring and new Chamber special
events.
A) Holiday Party
Gabe de Armas, Home Instead Senior Care
The committee’s mission is to successfully
organize and promote our local restaurants
while providing a festive and relaxed
networking opportunity for our members and
guests, while collecting gifts for those in
need.
Goals for 2009-2010:
• Secure more local restaurants to
participate than in previous years (minimum
25).
• Increase sponsor commitments at various
financial levels.
• Exceed the gifts collected in previous
years.
• Facilitate a poster contest involving
local middle schools to select the artwork
for the holiday party invitation.
B) Golf Classic
Perry Adair, Becker & Poliakoff
Annually held at The Biltmore Hotel, golf
course members and guests network on the
golf course with a dinner following.
Goals for 2009-2010:
• Make this a signature event that all want
to participate in.
• Recruit new Chamber members via the Golf
Classic.
• Increase sponsorship by 20% over previous
year.
• Increase participation by 20% over
previous year.
C) Baptist Health
Tour of the Gables 5K
Eric Swensson, The Bank of Miami
Barbara Norland, Doctors Hospital
Drawing over 900 participants
annually, this is a community event that
begins at City Hall with runners traveling
through a beautiful scenic tour of Coral
Gables.
Goals for 2009-2010:
• Increase sponsorship dollars by 10%.
• Increase participation in race by 10%.
• Increase publicity to corporate teams for
the Chairman’s Cup.
• Explore possibility of adding a 10K.
• Change date to Late May to capitalize on
synergy from Corporate Run Miami.
D) Goals Conference
2010
John O'Rourke, Montica Jewelry
Annual Conference where members,
committees and Board members meet to set the
goals for the Chamber’s next year.
Workshops, seminars and networking events
are offered to make this an enjoyable, yet
productive conference.
