Member Affairs Division

Division Vice Chair- Frank Fernandez, U.S. Century Bank

This division identifies, develops and implements the necessary activities, resources and communication requirements to actively encourage the enrollment of new members, promote upgrade of memberships of existing members and retention of all members.

A) Council of Trustees
Linda Knudsen, Baptist Health South Florida

The Council of Trustees is a valuable resource to the Chamber. Trustees meet monthly at various locations for luncheons, receptions and other events. Up to five representatives from each Trustee company may attend Chamber functions. Monthly receptions at Trustee members’ business locations provide a gracious and informative opportunity for additional networking. Currently there are more than 160 Trustee members of the Chamber

Goals:

• Establish communications with new Trustee members to make them feel welcome and engaged in the Chamber community.
• Re-engage less active Trustee members.
• Increase number of Trustee members by 30.
• Partner with other Chamber committees and community organizations to host events.
• Coordinate all Trustee events, including monthly receptions and luncheons.
• Arrange for interesting speakers/programs at monthly events.
• Secure sponsorships for all Trustee events.
• Help Trustees understand the value of their membership and assist with retention; re-engage non-active Trustee members.
• Write monthly newsletter articles that focus on Trustee outreach and events.
• Continue promotion of the Chamber through other community venues.
• Increase involvement of community leaders at Trustee events.

B) M-Team
Amy Donner, Community Newspaper

Mission is to build our membership through direct cultivation of new members and the support of a membership drive that encourages current members to invite and sponsor potential members to join the Chamber.

Goals:

• Increase the committee by 3-5 members
• Host Table at Breakfast for prospects
• Assist Membership Sales Team by identifying 3 qualified leads each month
• Reach out to other Chambers and Business Associations and invite them to attend our events
• Secure sponsors and table tops for the March Madness Table Top Expo. Increase number of table tops and overall attendance to the event by 10%

C) Chairman’s Ambassadors
Alex Vicencio, Wells Fargo Advisors

Ambassadors assist the Chamber in retaining its current membership through on-going personal contact, participation and education of Chamber membership benefits. Ambassadors also act as table hosts and greeters at the monthly membership breakfast and events and develop and maintain activities to convert prospects into members.

Goals:

• Commit to specific networking time at every Good Morning Coral Gables breakfast. Chairman’s Ambassadors facilitate members getting to their tables to allow ample time for business card exchange and meaningful table networking.

• Increase collaboration between M-Team and Chairman’s Ambassadors in order to foster member retention. Both committees work together towards providing exceptional member services while encouraging relationship building.

• Continue Chairman’s Ambassador Apprentice Program. New Chairman’s Ambassadors to receive on the job training from experienced Ambassadors for three month period.

• Increase Chairman’s Ambassador’s event attendance beyond Good Morning Coral Gables.

• Event attendance sign-in sheet will be provided to track all event participation by each Chairman’s Ambassador.

• Chairman, Vice-Chair, President, Committee Chair and staff liaison to vote on Chairman’s Ambassador of the Month based on event participation, professionalism displayed, Chamber staff and membership retention through renewals and membership upgrades.

D) 20/30 Group
Marianne Perkins, CompuPay, Inc.

The 20/30 Group Committee provides a platform for emerging leaders within the Chamber to further develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills, build their networks, contribute to the Coral Gables Community and to have fun! Provides younger members of the Chamber with a core group of like-minded contacts from which to broaden their network and expand their businesses.

Goals:

• Grow Wind Down Wednesday to a monthly event.• Continue Rising Star Award with a new title sponsor.• Develop Community Service Project in conjunction with other Chamber committees.
